Women's Basketball Recruiting Rules and Information 

Telephone Calls

  • One call each during the months of April and May of the prospect's junior year in high school.
  • One call from June 1-20 of the prospect's junior year of high school.
  • One call from June 21-30 of the prospect's junior year of high school.
  • Three calls in July following the prospect's junior year of high school.
  • No calls during July evaluation periods.
  • One call per week beginning August 1 following the prospect's junior year in high school.
  • Texas Tech may receive telephone calls placed by a prospect at the prospect's own expense at any time.
  • Texas Tech may accept collect and toll-free calls from prospect's and their parents or legal guardians beginning July 1 of the prospect's junior year in high school.
Evaluations
That period of time when coaches can be involved in off-campus recruiting activities designed to assess the academic qualifications and playing ability of prospects. No contacts shall be made during this time.

Contacts
A face-to-face encounter between a prospect and/or their family and coaching staff members.

  • In women's basketball, each institution is limited to five recruiting opportunities (contacts and evaluations combined) during the academic year, which may not include more than three in person, off-campus contacts during the prospect's senior year.
Recruiting Materials

  • You may receive recruiting materials from Texas Tech at the conclusion of your sophomore year in high school. This includes general correspondence and email. Questionnaires and camp brochures may be sent prior to this time.
Official Visits
An expense paid trip to visit campus.

  • Every prospect is limited to five expense-paid visits. Not more than one to a single institution.
  • Your first opportunity to visit is January 1 of your junior year in high school and no such visits may occur during the summer between the prospect's junior and senior years in high school.
  • You must present the institution with a transcript and a test score (PSAT, SAT, PLAN, ACT, PACT PLUS).
  • Your visit must not last longer than 48 hours.
  • You may not make an official visit during July evaluation periods.
  • Your parents or legal guardians must provide their own transportation unless they ride in a car with you.
  • Upon arrival to campus, Texas Tech can pay for lodging and meals of your parents, legal guardians and/or spouse.
  • You may receive three complimentary admissions to a Texas Tech home athletic event.
Unofficial Visits
A visit to Texas Tech at your own expense.

  • You may visit Texas Tech at your own expense an unlimited number of times.
  • You may not make an unofficial visit during July evaluation periods.
  • You may receive three complimentary admissions to a Texas Tech home athletic event.
  • You may only talk with the coaches on-campus.
