PSLIMINATED, Tech Unveils New Basketball Season Ticket Policy
I Want More Information!
July 19, 2010
LUBBOCK, Texas - A new generation of Red Raider basketball fans will have the opportunity to join some of Tech's most loyal fans in the lower bowl of the United Spirit Arena as Texas Tech Athletics unveiled a new season ticket policy for both men's and women's basketball that will go into effect immediately.
Since the opening of one of college basketball's most luxurious facilities in 1999, fans that wanted to have the best seats in the United Spirit Arena needed to own a personal seat license (PSL).
Beginning this fall, the PSL program will go away and prime season ticket prices for both basketball programs will be lowered to $275 for the men and $175 for the women. All of these seats will be located in the lower bowl of the arena and will encompass sections 101-115, as well as sections 123 and 124.
"There are three goals we want to accomplish," said associate athletics director Dave Welsh. "First and foremost, reward those 162 customers who paid up front for the PSL on their basketball seats. Second, encourage those customers who have been buying year-by-year PSL basketball seats to continue to do so. And third, get a new generation of Red Raider and Lady Raider basketball fans to become season ticket holders at the United Spirit Arena at an affordable rate."
In addition, fans will have the choice to purchase a 3-Point Option that provides enhanced benefits including exclusive access to Club Red, a NEW pre-game, half-time, and post-game grill and bar located on the east concourse of the United Spirit Arena, discounted parking, and first right to renew seats in subsequent years, along with email notification to advance purchase concert tickets. The additional cost per seat for the 3-Point Option is $150 per year and entitles the ticket holder to a discounted season parking permit for $100. Season parking for ticket holders not purchasing the 3-Point Option will be $150.
Last season, to purchase seats in the premium areas (formerly PSL), the overall cost ranged from $580 to $710 per seat for men and $490 to $575 per seat for women. Texas Tech will honor all paid-in-full current PSL accounts and these loyal fans will be given the highest priority. All current PSL accounts will be transitioned to the new program and all fans will maintain their current seat selections or can move to different seats upon their discretion. Athletics department officials will be contacting these PSL account holders in the coming days.
