Texas Tech Athletics Offers Gift Cards
Aug. 14, 2008
LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Athletics Department has partnered with the Texas Tech Federal Credit Union to provide fans the opportunity to purchase gift cards. With gift cards being such a hot item, the athletic department looked to find a way to offer something to fans that would cross multiple-buying platforms during their game day experience.
Partnering with the TTUFCU and their already existing Visa Gift Card program, Tech is now able to offer a gift card to fans that they can use to purchase tickets at the Athletic Ticket Office or online, apparel at the Double T Zone or online, concessions at the venue, Red Raider Club memberships and Rawls Course green and cart fees. "We are very excited to partner with Texas Tech Athletics to provide a convenient way for Tech fans of all sports to get the full `game time' experience," said Ellen Hein, CEO of the Texas Tech Federal Credit Union.
"We had an increasing interest from our fans to provide gift cards," said Paige Holland, Texas Tech Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations. "They wanted their gift to include tickets, but for the recipient to also be able to buy cokes, popcorn, and other concessions and have their game day experience completely covered.
"Each of these business entities uses a different accounting and payment processing system," Holland added, "so when researching a gift card option to cross all platforms, we realized we needed something more universal."
The gift cards are now available online at texastech.com.
