Erik Book was named Associate AD for Marketing, Sales and Service in May 2013, spending the previous year as the Associate AD for Ticket Operations at Texas Tech.. In his new role, Book will manage a newly reorganized unit which will include the oversight of the Promotions and Fan Engagement, Ticket Sales and Service and Ticket Operations units, which will focus on providing exceptional customer service to all constituents and providing the best fan experience possible at all Texas Tech athletic events.

Prior to Texas Tech, Book served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Operations. During his tenure in Miami, he helped manage a $20 million ticket and donation revenue budget and a staff of seven full-time ticket operations and customer service representatives. While at Miami, he led the conversion of ticketing systems from Paciolan to Ticketmaster, significantly increased online renewal percentages and increased sales for season, mini-plan and individual game packages. Book also served as the chairperson for the department-wide customer service committee, which implemented new initiatives to improve overall customer service for Hurricane fans.

Book came from USF prior to Miami, where he served as the Director of Athletic Ticket Operations and was then promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Operations at the University of South Florida, where he managed a $7 million dollar revenue budget, spearheaded the first sellout USF football game at Raymond James Stadium and increased average attendance from 30,222 to 53,170, exceeding the football revenue goal by $2 million dollars in his first season at the helm. He created an online student priority point program, managed Ticketmaster databases, redesigned the USF ticket website and implemented a departmental complimentary ticket policy to monitor distribution of comp tickets.

In addition, Book served as the Assistant Tournament Director for the 2008 NCAA Men's Basketball Regional held at the St. Pete Times Forum, managing more than 50 event staffers.

Previous stints include Director of Ticket Operations and Sales at Texas State University, where he increased ticket revenue 175 percent from 2003-06 and sales 72 percent from 2003-05, and Assistant Athletic Ticket Manager at Lamar University from 2002-03. He also interned with the Minnesota Timberwolves sales and marketing division during the summer of 2001.

A four-year letterwinner and senior captain for the Wartburg College basketball team, Book earned the Lynes Memorial Award for outstanding student-athlete leadership both on and off the court before graduating in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in athletic administration and a minor in business. He went on to earn his master's in sport management from St. Cloud State University in 2004, where he served as a graduate assistant in the athletic business and ticket office.

The Waverly, Iowa, native married the former Kelly Jameson in May 2008 and have a daughter, Bailey and son, Greyson.
