Baseball Stadium

Dan Law Field is the home of the Texas Tech University Red Raiders and currently the Minor League Lubbock Crickets baseball teams. The seating is aluminum bleacher on steel structure. The stadium includes private boxes at the back of the seating. Dan Law Stadium will be renovated to provide additional enclosure for the spectators and improve many of the spectator amenities. Overhead and facade enclosures along the outside of Dan Law Stadium will help to reduce the effects of the elements and provide a friendlier environment of the fans. Concession and toilet facilities will be renovated and upgraded. The existing private boxes will be renovated and expanded into he back three rows of seating to provide a larger box area and a better view for the suite patrons.

Enclosures will be provided to help provide protection from the weather and increase the enjoyment of game day for the fans. The first enclosure will be a brick facade around the outside of the stadium from grade up to the back of the private suite level. This new facade will provide architectural consistency with other campus buildings around the stadium. If deemed economically feasible, a second enclosure might be a cantilevered roof structure over a portion of the seating from first base around to third base along the cross aisle. The combination of these two enclosures will contribute to the enhancement of the games.

The existing private suite and press boxes have been deemed inefficient as they are undersized. By expanding into the three back rows of the seating bowl, additional area will be provided in the boxes. The boxes will have separate areas for the seating and entertaining. This additional space could possibly be used for toilet facilities for the private box patrons. The additional space for the press will provide and efficiency in operation currently lacking.

This work will enhance the surrounding campus. The renovation and expansion of Dan Law Field is needed to make it one of the top facilities of its type in the country.
