Track & Field Earns Eight USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Texas Tech receives eight USTFCCCA individual All-Academic awards.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech track & field recorded eight individual 2016 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic accolades, the league announced today.

On the women's side, were honored with the individual award including: Jocelyn Caro, Hannah Carson, Haley Cook, Gionna Jackson, Shanice Stewart and Reece Timmons. From the men's team, Trey Culver and Kyle Thompson picked up the distinction.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
A total of 910 women from 192 institutions and 570 men from 161 institutions earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2015-16 track & field season.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
