LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech opens its 92nd season of football Saturday when the Red Raiders host Stephen F. Austin inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. on FOX Sports Net and the Texas Tech Sports Network.
Saturday will mark the third all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Stephen F. Austin. The Red Raiders previously defeated SFA twice with a 58-3 thrashing in 2001 an then a 61-13 victory in 2013.
Tickets are still on sale for Saturday night's season opener and can be purchased online or by contacting the Texas Tech Ticket Office at 806-742-TECH.
For fans unable to make it to Jones AT&T Stadium, the game can be seen on FOX Sports Net or heard nationally on the Texas Tech Sports Network which covers radio affiliates throughout the state of Texas and New Mexico. The radio broadcast can also be heard nationally on XM (Channel 202) and Sirius Radio (Channel 136) as well as the TuneIn app.

GAMEDAY STORYLINES
- The Red Raiders enter Saturday riding a 13-game winning streak in season openers which is the fifth-longest active streak currently in the country. It is also the longest streak among Big 12 Conference programs.
- Texas Tech has not dropped a season opener played at home since the 1992 campaign. The Red Raiders have won each of its last 15 home season openers since falling to No. 15 Oklahoma in 1992.
- Since converting to the spread offense at the start of the 2000 season, Texas Tech is averaging 41.9 points per game in season openers. The Red Raiders have scored at least 40 points in each of their past five season openers, including a school-record 59 from their 2015 victory over Sam Houston State.
- Texas Tech has not dropped a season opener since the Red Raiders fell at No. 12 Ohio State to open the 2002 campaign.
- The Red Raiders are 19-1 all-time against FCS opponents with wins each of their last 15 meetings dating back to the 1988 season. This is the third-consecutive year where Texas Tech has opened its season against a FCS opponent.
- Jones AT&T Stadium will be near capacity throughout the 2016 season thanks in part to the second-largest purchase of season tickets in school history. Texas Tech has officially sold over 34,500 season tickets for the 2016 season as of Aug. 26.
- Texas Tech boasted one of the nation's most high-powered offenses a year ago as the Red Raiders averaged a school-record 45.1 points per game. Tech concluded the season ranked second nationally for both total offense (579.5 yards per game) and scoring offense (45.1 points per game).
- Texas Tech was the only team in a power-five conference in 2015 to score at least 25 points in all 13 games of the season. The Red Raiders enter the 2016 season having scored 25 or more points in 16-consecutive games, the longest active streak in the country.
