LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Rawls Course at Texas Tech has been named the No. 4 campus course in the country by Golfweek for 2016, as announced by the publication this week.
This marks the third-straight year the course has held the No. 4 spot on these rankings. It was one of three Big 12 courses to earn a top-25 ranking, joined by Oklahoma (18) and Kansas State (21).
Completed in September 2003, the 270-acre parcel features an 18-hole championship-level course with a 60-acre driving range as well as pitching and chipping areas and is the home course for the Texas Tech men's and women's golf teams.
In 2015, The Rawls Course hosted an NCAA Men's Regional and will do the same on the women's side May 8-10, 2017.
The 7,100-yard golf course has very undulating fairways, beautiful bent grass greens and many deep bunkers. Dedicated facilities for both golf teams existing, including collegiate-exclusive pitching and chipping areas and an indoor facility with three hitting bays, one each for the men and the women, both featuring state-of-the-art video technology.
