Athletic Training Program Information
Dear Prospective Student:
The Athletic Training Staff, at Texas Tech University, appreciates your interest in becoming a part of our sports medicine team. We have an undergraduate internship program which affords you the opportunity to receive hands-on experience, working with our full-time athletic trainers, more than 400 student-athletes, and 17 Division I intercollegiate sports. The Football Training Facility is home to the main athletic training complex, with other facilities located at each of our other sports venues.
Athletic training students at Texas Tech have the opportunity to work in state-of-the art facilities. Each student will enjoy a structured rotation, with a variety of collegiate athletic teams, in order for us to provide you the best possible learning environment. Another part of the educational experience involves your participation in weekly in-service sessions. These in-services will cover a wide range of topics and current trends in the profession of athletic training. There are also required athletic training specific courses, offered through the Exercise & Sports Sciences Department
When looking at prospective students, we will consider several factors. A few of the acceptance criteria include academic background and acceptance into the university, work ethic, character and interpersonal skills, letters of recommendation, and a genuine interest in the profession.
