Tech Student-Athletes Participate in Thank-A-Thon|
April 3, 2014
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech student-athletes took time out of their schedules this week to participate in a "Thank-A-Thon" that is coordinated through the Red Raider Club.
Tech student-athletes wrote thank you notes and made multiple phone calls, communicating one-on-one with donors and those who support the Red Raiders both on and off the playing field.
"It's always fun and a pleasure to get to say thanks to those who help us so much as student-athletes," Red Raiders softball student-athlete Derryn Hebert said. "Our fans and donors do so much for us and that allows us to represent Texas Tech and play the sports we love. We really do appreciate them."
A group of 21 student-athletes made over 350 phone calls this week while also writing over 60 thank-you letters as well. The sports represented included football, women's tennis, men's and women's basketball, track and field, softball and volleyball.
