Lady Raiders Place 3 on All-Academic Squad|

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Lady Raider track and field team officially placed three student-athletes on the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association 2013 All-Academic Team as announced Wednesday afternoon.
Okafor, who was selected as one of two Big 12 nominees for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award, posted a 3.8 grade point average in Human Sciences. She is a two-time All-American in the shot put and captured the 2011 Big 12 Outdoor Championship in the event.
Jackson finished sixth in the long jump at the 2013 Big 12 Outdoor Championships while posting a 3.33 grade point average in Exercise and Sports Science. She recorded the No. 4 jump by a freshman in the Big 12 this season with a leap of 19-feet 6 inches at the Big 12 meet.
As a freshman, Tarver collected three top-3 finishes in the women's sprints and hurdles while posting a 3.83 grade point average in Exercise and Sports Sciences.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
