Crawford Named Medical Director For Texas Tech Athletics|

Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt and Director of Athletics Training Arnold Gamber have designated Dr. Kevin Crawford as medical director and head orthopedic physician for Texas Tech Athletics.
Crawford, a Lubbock native, is a partner with Lubbock Sports Medicine and has been associated with Red Raiders athletics for the last five years.
As medical director he will actively organize and integrate healthcare providers, medical specialists, primary care physicians, healthcare facilities, athletics trainers and allied health professionals for the wellbeing of Texas Tech student-athletes. His role of head orthopedic physician will require his supervision of musculoskeletal services.
Crawford's experience in sports medicine includes his role as a team physician for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team, a team doctor for Justin Sportsmedicine and as medical director for the TTUHSC Masters of Athletic Training program. Dr. Crawford, along with his physician assistant, Stanley J. Kotara, also provide sports medicine services to a number of area high schools.
Crawford earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Branch in Dallas. He completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colo., and also owns a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine.
He maintains professional memberships in the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Texas Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, Arthroscopy Association of North America and the Hawkins Society.
Additionally, Crawford has been named as a "Super Doctor" by Texas Monthly Magazine and was awarded the Arthroscopy Association of North America Research Essay Award.
He and his wife Maura have three children; Kylie, Colin and Cadan.
