Former Texas Tech All-American Dion Miller joined coach Kittley's staff this season, helping with sprinters for the 2000-01 season.

Miller comes to Tech after two years at the high school level, coaching one year each at South Hills High School and Everman High School in Fort Worth, Texas.

Miller's accomplishments at Tech as a member of the track and field squad are numerous, including All-America honors during his junior and senior year, as well as being named to several all-conference squads. Miller earned All-Southwest Conference honors in the final year of the SWC, two each in both indoor and outdoor during the 1995-96 school year.

He earned nine All-Big 12 honors his final two seasons at Tech, five during his junior season and four more during his senior campaign.

He was a member of the 4x100 meter relay team at Tech, and also ran the 100 and 200. Miller qualified for the 1996 Olympic Trials in both the 100 and 200, posting times of 10.19 and 20.6, respectively.

The 26-year-old was an eight-time NCAA qualifier while at Tech, running on several relay teams with fellow All-American Pap Howard and Desmond Johnson.

Miller earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Tech in 1998. He is married to the former Carol Harris of Fort Worth, Texas, and the couple has two children, daughter Alandrea and son Kameron.
