Daniel Finishes Third In 10,000m At NCAA Championships

EUGENE - Texas Tech senior All-American Leigh Daniel finished in third place in the 10,000 meters on Thursday night at the NCAA Championships being held at the University of Oregon.

Daniel finished the race with a time of 34:42.64 that was good enough for third place. The NCAA Champion in the race was Amy Yoder-Begley (33:59.96) from the University of Arkansas. Daniel qualified for the NCAA's after posting an automatic qualifying time of 33:32.22 at the Mt. Sac Relays.

In other Texas Tech action, freshman Tiffany Green failed to advance in the women's 100 meters as she posted a time of 11.72 giving her a fifth place finish within her heat.

Daniel will wrap up Texas Tech's involvement in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday when she competes in the 5,000 meters.
