Leigh Daniel Wins World University Games in 10,000 meters

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech womens distance runner Leigh Daniel (Lubbock, Texas) won the 10,000 meters today at the World University Games in Spain. Her race took place at 2:30 PM central time. The race allowed Daniel to compete versus the worlds top collegiate athletes.

Daniel was the NCAA national champion in the outdoor 10,000 meters and indoor 5,000 meters in 1999. She will run for Texas Tech again in 1999 as a junior eligibility wise in the cross country and indoor track and field seasons and a senior for the outdoor track and field season.
