Qualified for the Kenyan Olympic team in both the 5,000-meter run and the 10,000-meter run...finished third in the 5,000-meter Kenyan trial with a time of 32:26.82...finished second in the 5,000-meter trial with a time of 16:09.29.

Won her ninth NCAA Championship capturing the women's 5,000-meter title with a time of 15:51.14...Big 12 Champion in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:09.83...member of the Big 12 Champion Distance Medley Relay team which recorded a time of 11:13.77 and set a new school record...NCAA runner-up in the mile with a time of 4:29.75.

Captured her eighth overall NCAA Championship winning the 6k course with a time of 19:29 - the fastest ever run at Terra Haute, Ind. With the win, she became the first female in Division I history to capture three NCAA Cross Country titles.

Won her seventh NCAA Championship is the 5,000M setting a NCAA meet record with a time of 15:15.08 ... named All-American honors for finishing second in the 1500M with a school record of 4:06.67 ... won the 1500M and 5000M Big 12 Championships for the second year in a row ... set a school record in the 5K at the Mt. SAC Relays running a NCAA Regional time of 15:11.88 ... reset her 10,000M school and NCAA record with a NCAA automatic time of 31:25.45 ... member of the distance medley relay she took home the championship at the Texas Relays with a new school record time of 11:01.17.

Won her sixth NCAA Championship in the 5,000M with a time of 15:31.91 ...earned All-Conference honors with a win at the Big 12 Championship in the mile event with a school record time of 4:36.31 ... in the 3000M ran a season best time of 9:05.45 at the Boston Indoor Games ... took home the top spot at the Big 12 Championship earning her All-Conference honors ... won the Tyson Invitational coming in with a mark of 15:32.09 in the 5K ... member of the distance medley relay competing in the Big 12 Championship with a time of 11:24.84.

Not only did the junior have another successful season, but a 2006 season repeat ... for the second consecutive year, Kipyego claimed a win in all meets on the season ... she claimed the title at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., where she set a new course best time of 19:30.9 ... captured the Big 12 Cross Country Championships with a time of 19:22.5 ... and was awarded Big 12 Runner of the week (Sept. 28) ... the only Lady Raider to achieve academic success for the season, by earning All-Big 12 second team ... clocked a time of 19:29.4 at the Mountain Regionals ... also awarded Mountain Region Female Athlete of the Year ... took first at the Chile Pepper Festival with a time of 19:49.2 ... set a personal best at the Red Raider Jackrabbit Open with a time of 15:46.3.

Holds four national titles in her career at Texas Tech which includes cross country, the indoor 3000M, 5000M and the Outdoor 10K National Champion in the 10K ... named All-American in two events ... member of the DMR that placed first at the Texas Relays with a time of 11:39.42 ... ran a NCAA regional qualifying time and personal best in the 1500M with a time of 4:21.57 at the Big 12 Championships placing her first and earning her all-conference honors ... set a school and personal record in the 5000M at the Mt. SAC Relays with a time of 15:19.72 ... placed first in the 5000M at the Big 12 Championships running a NCAA regional qualifying time of 16:42.01 ... clocked a 15:24.22, placing her second and earning her All-American honors, in the 5000M at the NCAA Championships ... clocked a school, personal, and NCAA record at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational in the 10K with a time of 31:56.72 ... won the 10K National Championship with a time of 32.55.71.

Ran a NCAA automatic qualifying time at the Tyson Invitational winning the 5000M with a time of 15:39.51 ... set a school record in the 3000M by running a NCAA qualifying time and a personal best at the University of Washington Indoor, winning the event in the time of 8:56.72 ... ran a NCAA automatic qualifying time of 4:43.04 in the mile to win the Texas Tech Invitational ... member of the Big 12 Champion DMR team running a school record time of 11:18.07 ... won the Big 12 Championship in the mile running a school record, NCAA automatic qualifying time, and a personal best of 4:38.18... won the Big 12 Championship in the 3000M with a NCAA automatic qualifying time of 9:11.41 ... 2007 National Champion in the 3000M and 5000M and recieved All-American honors twice ... won the NCAA Championship in the 3000M with a time of 9:02.05 ... won the 5000M National Championship setting a school record and personal best time of 15:27.42.

2006 CROSS COUNTRY (Sophomore):
2006 National Champion and All-American... Kipyego broke onto the scene with her first race as a Red Raider as she took first at the lone home meet, the Red Raider Jackrabbit Open, with a time of 15:55.31... at the Murray Keatinge Invitational, she led the Tech women's team to a first-place finish as she raced to her second victory clocking 16:11.82 in the 5k event... in one of the toughest regular season meets, the Chile Pepper Invitational, Kipyego took the title with a time of 19:29.3 in the 6k... became the first Texas Tech individual to champion the Big 12 meet when she took first in a time of 20:00.82, leading the Red Raiders to their highest school finish with second place... took the individual title at the Mountain Regional, once again leading Tech to a second-place finish and the school's first automatic bid to nationals... ran a time of 19:45.9 at the regional meet... twice won Big 12 Runner of the Week honors, after the Murray Keatinge and the Chile Pepper... earned All-Big 12 honors with first-place conference finish... named the Big 12 Women's Newcomer of the Year... raced to All-Mountain Region honors with first place at the regional event... finished season by capturing Texas Tech's first individual title at the NCAA Cross Country Championships... ran a time of 20:11.1, 26.8 seconds ahead of second-place Jenny Barringer of Colorado... led Red Raiders to sixth place finish at nationals in Tech's first-ever team appearance... earned All-America status... named the USTFCCCA Female Athlete of the Year... won all six of her races by an average of 34.94 seconds (29.69, 39.18, 25.7, 44.18, 44.1 and 26.8 seconds, respectively).

Ran a time of 17:09.00 to take the title at the 2005 NJCAA Cross Country meet... was named a first team All-American... was the 1500M, 5000M and 10,000M national champion at the 2006 NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships... named the Female Athlete of the Year for 2006... also honored as a Lady Texan Academic Athlete... best times are: 1500 - 4:22; 5000 - 16:13; 10,000 34:09.

Attended the Cross Country Provincials in 2001... cross country national champion in 2000... was the record holder for 5000 and 10,000 in 2001... represented Kenya in the World Cross Country meet in 2001.

Born Dec. 19, 1985 to Josphine Kipyego and the late William Kipyego... has six siblings: brothers John, Chris and Mike and sisters Elizabeth, Ann and Jane... brothers Chris and Mike run professionally... hobbies include traveling and swimming.
