Two school records broken at Red Raider Open

2010 OUTDOOR: All-Big 12 in the shot put ... season best of 51'-11.25" at the Oklahoma Invitational ... best of 152'-9" in the discus at the Texas Tech Dual meet.

2010 INDOOR: Competed in both the shot put and hammer throw during the season ... season best of 47'-9" in the shot put and 48'-2.50" in the hammer ... won the shot put at the Texas Tech Open with a throw of 46'-2.75".

2009: Redshirt

HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Westbury high school in Houston ... was involved in National Honor Society, Student Council and Black History Club ... she was named all-district, all-region with her best throw in the shot put being 46'-4".

PERSONAL: Born on August 20th to Christopher and Helen Okafor ... has the siblings Nikeonye, Odera and Arize ... majoring in community health with a minor in biology/chemistry ... wants to become an anesthesiologist.
