Competed in the shot put and the discus...four first place finishes and eight top-three finishes in the shot put...three first place finishes and six top-three finishes in the discus throw...season-best mark of 16.98m (55'-8.50") in the shot put to finish first at the Red Raider Open...the mark ranked No. 11 nationally to end the year...season-best mark of 55.43m (181'-10.00") to finish first at the West Texas A&M Open...the mark ranked No. 10 nationally to end the year.

2012 INDOOR
Competed in the shot put...season best mark of 16.51m (54'-2") to finish fourth at the UNM Don Kirby Collegiate Elite...recorded four throws of over 50-feet.

2011 OUTDOOR
First Team All-American...Big 12 Shot Put Champion...captured the Big 12 title with a season-best and school record mark of 17.77m (58'-3.75")...finished the season with four first place finishes in the shot put and one in the discus throw...finished sixth at the NCAA Championships with a mark of 19.96 (55'-7.75") in the shot put...season best mark of 53.77m (176'-5") in the discus throw...fourth at the Big 12 Championships in the discus with a mark of 53.09m (174'-2.00").

2011 INDOOR
Second Team All-American....Competed in the shot put...earned All-Big 12 honors finishing third with a season-best and NCAA Automatic Qualifying mark of 17.10m (56'-1.25")...earned six top-five finishes with five throws of over 50-feet...finished 16th at at the NCAA Championships with a mark of 16.22m (53'-2.75").

2010 OUTDOOR:
All-Big 12 in the shot put ... season best of 51'-11.25" at the Oklahoma Invitational ... best of 152'-9" in the discus at the Texas Tech Dual meet.

2010 INDOOR:
Competed in both the shot put and hammer throw during the season ... season best of 47'-9" in the shot put and 48'-2.50" in the hammer ... won the shot put at the Texas Tech Open with a throw of 46'-2.75".

2009: Redshirt

HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Westbury high school in Houston ... was involved in National Honor Society, Student Council and Black History Club ... she was named all-district, all-region with her best throw in the shot put being 46'-4".

PERSONAL: Born on August 20th to Christopher and Helen Okafor ... has the siblings Nikeonye, Odera and Arize ... majoring in community health with a minor in biology/chemistry ... wants to become an anesthesiologist.
