Volunteer Assistant Pole Vault Coach Brian Porter mic'd up at the UNM Don Kirby Collegiate Elite meet in Albuquerque, N.M.

2009 OUTDOOR: Earned all-conference clearing a season best of 17"-2.50" and placing fourth overall ... finished seventh at the Midwest Regional wtih a mark of 16'-11" ... won the Texas Tech Invitational with a tiem of 17'-00.75".

2008 OUTDOOR: Earned all-conference honors in the pole vault at the Big 12 Championships with a mark of 16'-6.75" ... placed fifth at the Midwest Regionals with a height of 17'-00.75" ... won the UTEP Invite with a mark of 16'-10.75 ... placed second with a mark of 16'-6.75" at the John McDonnell Invite ... placed second at the Red Raider Open with a mark of 16'-00.75" ... finished third with a mark of 16'-10.75" at the ACU Invitational.

2008 INDOOR: Competed in the NCAA Championships in the pole vault ... earned All-Conference honors at the Big 12 Championships with a mark of 16'-6.75" ... finished third at the United Heritage Invitational with a mark of 16'-6.75" ... set a personal best mark clearing 17'-6.75" at the Texas Tech Open.

2007 OUTDOOR: Competed in pole vault ... named All-Big 12 for placing eighth with a jump of 16'-6.75" ... placed first at the Tarleton Relays with a regional qualifying vault of 17'-0.75".

2007 INDOOR: Received All-Big 12 honors in the pole vault ... won the Texas Tech Open with a vault of 16'-7.25" ... set a personal best at the Big 12 Championships with a vault of 16'-7.5" to place fifth.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Maypearl High in Maypearl, Texas... Participated in football, basketball and track and field... Was a member of the 2005 and 2006 district track and field championship teams... Ran a leg in the 2006 district champion 4x100 and 4x400 squads... Became the district champion in pole vault in 2004, 2005 and 2006... Also took the title at regionals in 2004, 2005 and 2006... Earned the bronze medal at state competion in the pole vault in 2004... 2AA State pole vault champion in 2005 and 2006... Personal best pole vault height is 16'-7.75".

PERSONAL: Born July 13, 1987 to Joe and Renea Porter in Dallas, Texas... Father Joe graduated from Amber University and works as a utility contractor... Mother Renea is a public service officer... Has one sister, Lindsey, 23... Cousin, Kerri Campbell, was a member of the Texas Tech soccer team in 2003... Interests include sand volleyball, being at the lake, and hanging out with friends... Majoring in exercise sport sciences with a minor in biology... Career goal is to become a pediatrician.
