Trevor Fulkerson joins the Texas Tech track and field staff as a volunteer assistant coach beginning in 2014. Fulkerson will help oversee the development of Tech high jumpers as well as combined events athletes. He arrives at Tech after serving as an assistant coach at Azusa Pacific following his graduation in 2011. As a track and field athlete at Azusa Pacific, Fulkerson helped the Cougars win three conference team titles and was twice named a Scholar-Athlete.
Following his career as an athlete, Fulkerson was named an assistant coach on the Azusa Pacific where he assisted in the development of the Cougar hurdlers and multi-event athletes. As an assistant, Fulkerson coached multiple NAIA/NCCAA National Champions in the hurdles and combined events, in addition to multiple runner-ups and All-Americans. Meanwhile, Fulkerson also helped oversee the development of Breanna Leslie who qualified for the U.S. Championships in the heptathlon and pentathlon.
During his time at Azusa Pacific, the men's track and field team won the 2013 Indoor NCCAA National Championship and the 2013 Outdoor NCCAA National Championship. The squad also captured the 2012 conference team championship. Meanwhile, the Lady Cougars also won national titles during his tenure capturing both the 2013 Outdoor NCCAA National Championship and the 2012 NAIA Indoor Championship. The women's team also won the 2011 and 2013 conference championships.
With Fulkerson on staff, Azusa Pacific was honored three times as the National Coaching Staff of the Year.
