Lady Raiders Set Distance Medley Relay School Record

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Lady Raider distance medley relay set a new school record at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in the first day of competition by Tech at three different meets.

The women's distance medley relay of Purity Biwott, Trudeann Clarke, Gladys Kipsang and Caroline Karunde set a new school record at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. The relay placed fifth in a competitive field running a NCAA Provisional time of 11:10.28. The time is currently the sixth fastest in the nation.

The previous record of 11:13.77 was set last year by Asia Diaz, Jonisha Boleware, Kipsang and Sally Kipyego.

The men's distance medley relay improved on its season best with a time of 9:48.70. The group of Gilbert Limo, Zach Plinario, Zack Dawson and Silas Kemboi placed sixth

Michelle Guzman ran a 17:24.55 in the 5000M placed 12th in the race.

The results from the New Mexico Classic were not available at time of release and will be tomorrow's release.
