LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 4 Red Raiders and No. 17 Lady Raiders collected eight titles at the Texas Tech Open held at the Athletic Training Center on Saturday.

Kelly Closse won the women's weight throw with a mark of 19.72M/64'-8.50" and beat the field by nearly 13 feet. Closse won her second event in the women's shot put. She won with a throw of 15.65M/51'-4.25" while teammate Ifeatu Okafor was second with a throw of 15.48M/50'-9.50".

Darrell Roddick won the men's triple jump but didn't improve on his season best jump. The senior's mark was 15.65M/51'-4.25".

Jamele Mason crossed the line in third in the 400M with a personal-best time of 47.36. Meshawn Graham was second in the women's race with a 55.62.

Jessie Gibbs won the women's pole vault by clearing 3.70M/12'-1.50".

Katherine Preibe ran a personal best of 10:39.13 to win the women's 3000M.

Kelsey Lloyd won the women's 55M hurdles with a time of 7.83. The Red Raiders put two in the top three. Brandon Tucker ran a 7.35 for second and Ryan McDowell was third in a time of 7.82.

Samuel Bushong won the first race of the day. He ran the 5000M in a time of 15:40.90.

Nick Tam placed second in the men's high jump clearing 1.98M/6'-6".

In his first race of the indoor season, Gilbert Limo placed second in the 1000M with a time of 2:29.73. Devin Bailey won the women's race with a 2:54.63.



The Lady Raiders put third in the top four of the women's 55M. Terra Evans was second with a 6.90. Erica Alexander and Candace Jackson ran third and fourth with times of 7.02 and 7.11.

In the women's 800M, Kearci Jobe ran a personal best of 2:13.94 to place second in the race.

Tech had Shannon Jacksoon ran a 1:27.01 in the 600Y to place second while on the men's side Shane Brathwaite ran a 1:12.64 to finish third.

Candace Jackson ran the 200M in a time of 24.23 to place third in the women's race.
