Fayetteville, Ark. - Jonathan Johnson, Tyree Gailes and the men's 4x400M relay were among those crowned All-Americans on the final day of competition at the NCAA track and field championships.

Johnson finished sixth in the finals of the 800M with a time of 1:47.92, the second-fastest time in school history. This is his eighth All-American honor, making him the most decorated All-American athlete in Texas Tech track and field history. In the 800M prelims, Johnson finished first overall with his mark of 1:48.42. Coming into today's race, Johnson was ranked no.1 in the country in the event.

Gailes finished seventh in the finals of the 60M dash, running a time of 6.72. This is Gailes' second All-America honor while competing at Tech. Gailes was a three-time All-American while competing at Garden City C.C. Gailes ran a personal-best 6.70 in the prelims and finished sixth overall, ahead of Big 12 Champion Dusty Stamer of Nebraska, who finished in seventh place.

The men's 4x400M relay, comprised of Johnny Jacob, Terry Beard, Andrae Williams and Michael Mathieu, finished in sixth place with a time of 3:05.81. This is the first All-America honor for Jacob, Beard, Williams and Mathieu as a Red Raiders. Williams was a two-time All-American at South Plains College, Jacob was a two-time All-American at Garden City C.C. and Mathieu was a three-time All-American and Beard was a five-time All-American at Southwestern Christian College.
