LUBBOCK, Texas - With most of the team at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas, several athletes are making their claim at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif., as senior Tracie Akerhielm, junior Brionne Yosten and freshman Benson Cheserek competed in yesterday's events.

Yosten set a personal record and regional qualifying mark in the 5000m run with a time of 16:47.79 and a 10th-place finish. Akerhielm finished in 17th with her own regional qualifying time of 16:55.70. Both finished well ahead of the 17:14.16 regional qualifying mark.

Cheserek finished in fourth with a time of 8:57.63, his best of the season in the 3000m steeplechase.
