ABILENE, Texas - Texas Tech finished its last meet before the Big 12 Championships with 22 NCAA regional marks and a school record while at the ACU Invitational.

Patience Knight won the women's shot put with a school record and collegiate leading throw of 57'-11". It marks the third time this season Knight has broke the school record. D'Andra Carter finished in second place with a NCAA regional toss of 50'-8". The men had Tyler Menges throw a NCAA regional mark of 51'-11.75" to place second.

The men saw three NCAA regional marks in the long jump. Waylon Randolph placed third with a mark of 24'-9.75" and Bobby Evers finished fourth with a jump of 24'-7.25". Lyle Leong earned his first regional mark in the long jump finishing fifth with a mark of 24'-2.50".

The women's discus throwers all finished in the top three. Carter won the event with a NCAA regional throw of 175'-07. Ozie Okolie threw a personal best of 165'-09" to finish in second and Knight was right in third with a mark of 165'-05".

Okolie also won the women's hammer throw with a NCAA regional mark of 201'-02".

The men and women saw better marks form the pole vault. Kelley Schulz cleared a NCAA regional mark of 13'-1" to place second. Brian Porter finished third with a NCAA regional mark of 16'-10.75 and Kelly Wilson cleared a personal best of 16'-.75" to place fifth.

Leong and Justin Turner finished one and two in the high jump as both cleared 6'-7.50". Kelsey Lloyd won the women's high jump clearing 5'-5.75".

 

 

Anthony Flemons won the men's triple jump with a NCAA regional mark of 52'-6.50".

The women's 4x100M relay of Sandra Iwunze, Jonisha Boleware, Keshima Starks and Erica Worthy added its name to the list of regional qualifiers winning with a time of 45.67.

The 1500M had Asia Diaz run a time of 4:41.65 and John Szot run 4:24.47 to both finish in fourth place.

The 110M hurdles saw Tech bring home two titles. Iwunze won the women's with a NCAA Regional and personal best time of 13.82. Shawon Harris won the men's side with a NCAA regional time of 13.58. Nathan Lowry finished fourth with a NCAA regional mark of 14.08 and Omo Osaghae was fifth with a NCAA regional time of 14.09.

Lamont Adams added his name as a regional qualifier as he finished in third in the 400M with a time of 46.87. Rodney Mims placed fifth with a time of 47.82. The women had all four runners finish in the top six. Boleware placed second with a time of 55.88 while Starks was fourth with a time of 56.05. Gladys Kipsang and Worthy finished in fifth and sixth with time of 56.57 and 57.23 respectively.

The men added newcomer Rashad Hawk as a NCAA regional qualifier. He ran a time of 10.54 in the 100M to finish in fifth and Skye Green finished in sixth with a time of 10.56.

Shannon Jackson won the women's 800M with a time of 2:11.65. Kearci Jobe placed fifth with a personal best time of 2:18.35. The men had all four runners finish in the top 6. Silas Kemboi finished second with a NCAA regional time of 1:49.77. Edwin Sang was third with a time of 1:52.30 and Cory Higgins was fourth with a time of 1:57.29. Logan Culotta placed sixth with a time of 1:58.51.

Jasmine Flournoy regionally qualified in the 400M hurdles placing second with a time of 1:00.33. Harris won the men's 400M hurdles with a NCAA regional and personal best time of 50.25. Wouter Le Roux finished in second with a NCAA regional time of 50.60.

Chep Boit and Michelle Guzman placed first and second in the 3000M with times of 10:11.73 and 10:27.85 respectively.

The women's 4x400M relay of Diaz, Kipsang, Jackson and Jobe finished in third with a time of 3:49.67. The men's 4x400M relay of Kemboi, Sang, Cory Higgins and Logan Culotta placed fifth with a time of 3:27.23.

David Boston finished in second place in the 3K steeplechase with a time of 10:47.80 and Eric Ayala ran the 5000M in a time of 16:42.76 and placed fifth.
