Results

DES MOINES, Iowa - Rain delayed the start of the NCAA Championships, but after the sun came our four Red Raiders advanced to the next round of the NCAA Championships.

Sally Kipyego will have a chance to capture the 5,000M title that eluded her last year. She won her prelim with a time of 17:23.14. Kipyego will run the finals of the 5,000M on Friday at 9:15 p.m.

D'Andra Carter advanced to the finals of the discus with a throw of 170'-8". She had the third best throw of the prelims. Patience Knight threw 156'-08" but failed to make the finals.

Irene Kimaiyo qualified for the finals of the 3K steeplechase on Friday at 7:25 p.m. She ran a time of 10:18.45 to place fourth in her heat and the eighth fastest time in the prelims.

Sandra Iwunze ran a time of 58.08 to qualify for the semi's with the fourth fastest. She will run in the semis tomorrow at 5:45 p.m.

Senior Bobby Evers finished his career as Red Raider with a jump of 24'-4.50" in the prelims.

Mike Cast finished his career with a prelims throw of 199'-10" to place 21st in the prelims.

Ozie Okolie finished in 16th place during the prelims of the hammer throw. She threw a distance of 196'-06".

Wouter LeRoux finished his season with a time of 51.85 in the 400M hurdles and placed 22nd.

Gilbert Limo finished in a time of 9:07.27 in the prelims of the 3K steeplechase. He was 21st overall.
