Tech Feels Pain on Day Three of NCAA Outdoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - One of Texas Tech's best chances to score points at the NCAA Outdoor Championships was unable to finish the race as Gil Roberts pulled up in the semi-finals of the 400M at John McDonnell Field. Roberts was ranked second in the NCAA in the 400M during the season with an altitude converted 44.87 and was one of the favorites to win the 400M. Gilbert Limo ran with the front runners for a while before falling back in the final of the men's 3000M steeple chase. The sophomore ran a time of 9:00.28 and finished 13th best in the nation. He finished with a season-best and personal-best time of 8:41.85. Darrell Roddick was unable to advance to the finals of the men's triple jump finishing one spot out of qualifying. The junior jumped 51'-11.75" to finish his season. He jumped a personal-best of 51'-11" during the season. Tech has D'Andra Carter in the women's discus and the men's 4x400M relay competing tomorrow.
