LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech track program had All-American Gil Roberts advance to the semi-finals of the men's 400M on the first day of the USA Outdoor Championships held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

All-American Roberts qualified for the next round of the 400M at the USA Outdoor Championships. The Indoor and Outdoor Big 12 Champion in the 400M was second in his heat with a time of 47.09 and four collegians that advanced. Roberts will run the semi-finals tomorrow at 5:20 p.m. PST.

The 2009 NCAA discus champion D'Andra Carter, failed to make the finals of the women's discus. She was 10th overall with a throw of 177'-06".

Tech will have student-athletes competing tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the junior men's 110M hurdles. Live results of the meet can be found at www.flashresutls.com or www.usatf.org.
