LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's Gil Roberts and Omo Osaghae advanced to the next round of the 400M and 110M hurdles, respectively, at the USA Outdoor Championships being held in Eugene, Ore.

All-American Roberts continued his quest in the 400M as the sophomore ran a 45.18 in the semi-finals. His time was second in his heat and third-fastest overall. Roberts is one of two collegians in the finals, which will run Saturday at 6:02 p.m. PST.

Big 12 Champion in the 110M hurdles Osaghae ran a 13.53 to qualify for the semi-finals of the 110M hurdles. He was the 15th qualifier and will run again on Sat., June 27 at 3:40 p.m. PST.

Freshman Brandon Tucker ran a 13.58 in the preliminaries of the junior 110M hurdles to qualify for the finals. He turned around a few hours later and ran the finals. The freshman was seventh in the finals with a 13.80. The top three make the USA Junior National team.

Senior Patience Knight concluded her career in a Texas Tech uniform at the USA Outdoor Championships. The four-time Big 12 Champion in the shot put finished 15th with a toss of 51'-5.75".

Former Red Raider Jonathan Johnson failed to advance to the finals of the men's 800M. The 2004 800M NCAA Champion ran a time of 1:49.15 in the semi-finals.

Shade Weygandt, a Red Raider signee for the fall, made the USA Junior National team in the pole vault. She finished second clearing a height of 13'-11.25".

Tech will have student-athletes competing tomorrow at 3:40 p.m. in the men's 110M hurdles. Live results of the meet can be found at www.flashresutls.com or www.usatf.org.
