Texas Tech to Host NJCAA Indoor Championships
Texas Tech will host the 2013 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend.

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech University and the Texas Tech track and field program will host the 2013 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend inside the Athletic Training Center.
The two-day meet scheduled to begin Friday and continue all day Saturday will host a total of 620 of the top junior college athletes representing 47 schools from across the country. Texas Tech is hosting the event for the fourth time in the last seven years.
"We are excited to host national championships here on the Texas Tech campus," Meet Director and Texas Tech Head Cross Country Coach Jon Murray said. "The meet brings some of the top talent in collegiate track and field here to Lubbock, and presents a fantastic opportunity for the local community and region to enjoy an elite meet on our very own campus."
Competition inside the Athletic Training Center located directly south of Jones AT&T Stadium begins Friday at 9 a.m. with the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon.
Events on the track begin 4 p.m. while field events are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
