Texas Tech to Compete at Two Last Chance Meets
Texas Tech will compete in two last chance meets this weekend.

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech track and field program will send a handful of athletes across the country this weekend to compete in last chance meets with hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships set for March 8-9 in Fayetteville, Ark.
The Red Raiders and Lady Raiders are fresh off a successful showing at the Big 12 Indoor Championships where the program captured three individual titles and the men's team earned its third top-five finish in the last four years.
Three athletes will compete Friday at the Arkansas Final Qualifier at the Randal-Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville. The Arkansas contingent includes junior Kyal Meyers, sophomore Kole Weldon and freshman LeTristan Pledger.
Meyers will compete in the pole vault at the Arkansas Final Qualifier and enters the meet No. 15 nationally in the event after clearing an indoor personal-best of 5.41-meters (17'-9.00") at the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas. A two-time All-American, Meyers earned Second Team honors at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships.
Pledger enters the meet No. 31 in the women's long jump with a season-best of 6.13-meters (20'-1.50"). Weldon, who owns the school record in the shot put, enters the meet No. 15 nationally with a season-best throw of 18.94-meters (62'-1.75").
The Lady Raider 4x400 relay squad, which earned All-America First Team honors in 2012, will compete Saturday at Notre Dame with the No. 11 time nationally at 3:35.33. Meanwhile, Rivera enters the meet after winning 800-meter run at the Big 12 Indoor Championships.
Junior Ezekiel Kissorio will look to improve upon his season-best time of 4:03.87 in the mile.
The 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships are scheduled for March 8-9 at the Randal-Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
