FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Three Texas Tech athletes completed competition Friday at the Arkansas Final Qualifier inside the Randal-Tyson Track Center.

Texas Tech junior Kyal Meyers, sophomore Kole Weldon and freshman LeTristan Pledger each entered the meet with hopes of securing qualifying marks for the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships set for March 8-9.

In the men's shot put, Weldon finished first overall with a throw of 18.27 (59'-11.25"). The Jacksboro, Texas native entered the meet No. 15 nationally after breaking the school record last weekend with a toss of 18.94-meters (62'-1.75") to finish runner-up a the Big 12 Indoor Championships.

Meyers finished sixth in the pole vault where he cleared the bar at 5.30-meters (17'-4.50") on his first attempt. The clearance came after going up and over the bar at 5.15-meters (16'-10.75") on his second attempt, and marks his 11th career clearance over 17-feet indoors.

Meanwhile, in the women's long jump, Pledger went 5.98-meters (19'-7.50") to finish fifth overall in the competition. Pledger entered the meet No. 31 nationally with a season-best of 6.13-meteres (20'-1.50").

Tech will have two athletes along with the women's 4x400 relay competing tomorrow in the second day of action at the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame.
