LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 18 Red Raiders and No. 19 Lady Raiders track teams will hit the road in various directions this weekend for one last chance to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships in College Station, Texas.

The sprinters hurdlers will be headed to Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, for the Iowa State Last Chance meet. Both the men's and women's 4x400M relay teams will run as well as numerous individuals that will be chasing qualifying marks.

The distance crew will be off to Notre Dame for the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind., to run. The distance medley relay that sits eighth in the NCAA will run to improve its season-best time of 11:10.63. Rose Tanui and Winrose Tanui are both entered in the 3,000M and 5,000M to chase times. The duo of Purity Biwott and Caroline Jepleting will also run in the 800M.

Kyal Meyers and Shade Weygandt are both headed to Seattle, Wash., for the Washington Last Chance meet. Meyers, the Big 12 Champion, has a season best of 5.30M/17'-4.50" and is after a higher mark. Weygandt will be looking to tune-up before the NCAA Indoor Championships as she has already automatically qualified.

Tech will also send Kelly Closse to the Arkansas Last Chance in Fayetteville, Ark., meet to throw the shot put and weight. Closse is 13th in the NCAA in the weight and ranks No. 19 in the shot put.

The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held in College Station, Texas, on March 4-5.
