LUBBOCK, Texas – The NCAA announced late Tuesday night the official qualifiers for the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships set for March 14-15 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Texas Tech, coming off a strong performance at the Big 12 Indoor Championships, qualified seven student-athletes - three Red Raiders and four Lady Raiders - along with the Big 12 Champion Lady Raider 4x400 relay team for the national meet.

The Texas Tech contingent includes Cierra White (200-meters), Le’Tristan Pledger (60-meter hurdles & long jump), Shanice Stewart (long jump), Bradley Adkins (high jump), JaCorian Duffield (high jump) and Kole Weldon (shot put).

The Lady Raider 4x400 relay includes Amoy Blake, Christen Rivers, Montenae Roye-Speight and White. The squad will look to earn All-America honors for the third consecutive indoor season. Three legs (White, Rivers and Blake) return from the team that finished seventh at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships.

The 2014 squad has clocked a season-best time of 3:34.08, which the Lady Raiders recorded at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Meanwhile, Weldon is set to compete at his second-straight NCAA Indoor Championship meet. The junior and Big 12 Runner-Up in the shot put finished runner-up at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships and currently holds the nation’s No. 5 throw – a school record 20.11-meters (65-11.75). Weldon recorded that mark at the Albuquerque Convention Center in February.

Joining Weldon from the Red Raiders will be Adkins and Duffield who will jump alongside one-another at their second-straight NCAA Championship meet. The pair both qualified for the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championships last June where Adkins finished 20th while Duffield went on to finish seventh and earn All-America First Team honors.

The pair have both cleared 2.23-meters (7-3.75), a mark that breaks a 30-year-old school record and was No. 6 nationally for the 2014 indoor season.

Pledger will compete at her second straight NCAA Championship meet. She qualified for the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the long jump, and will compete once again in the event in Albuquerque along with the 60-meter hurdles. She boasts the nation’s No.6 time in the 60-meter hurdles (8.09 seconds).

Meanwhile, Pledger enters the long jump competition with a season-best leap of 6.32-meters (20-9.00), which ranks No. 9 nationally and No. 3 in school history.

Stewart will make her debut for the Lady Raiders at the NCAA Championships competing in the long jump alongside Pledger. Stewart boasts a season-best leap of 6.30-meters (20-8.00).
