The Texas Tech track and field team is set to bring the 2012 indoor season to a close by sending eight athletes to Boise, Idaho to compete at the NCAA 2012 Indoor Championships. The group will look to make its mark this weekend, led by Bryce Lamb, a two-time All-American in the long jump who will make his third trip to the indoor championship meet in as many indoor seasons.

Lamb is joined by teammates Kyal Meyers, Kelly Closse and Katie Grimes along with Lady Raider 4x400 relay team. Closse enters the meet after recently being named the 2012 Mountain Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year by the USTFCCCA.

The two-day meet will take place at the Jacksons Indoor Track at the Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho. ESPN3 will provide a partial broadcast of each day, while live streaming of the complete meet will be available online by the NCAA.

Bryce Lamb leads Tech into the NCAA Indoor Championships despite only recording one jump on the season. The junior two-time All-American got the 2012 season off to a hot start during his season-debut at the Texas Tech Open. Lamb leaped 26'-0.75" on his second jump. The jump ranked No. 1 in the country after the weekend. The jump qualified him for nationals and he enters this weekend ranked No. 4 in the country.

Meanwhile, Closse has had an explosive season by racking up five first-place finishes in the weight throw competition including the Big 12 Championship and enters the weekend with a season best mark of 70'-11.25" which she recorded on Feb. 10 at the UNM Don Kirby Collegiate Elite. The mark ranks No. 3 in the country. Closse also qualified in the shot put as she enters the meet ranked No. 13 in the country with a season-best mark of 55'-2.75".

Katie Grimes has also had an explosive 2012 indoor season, grabbing six top-five finishes and breaking the school record five times. Kyal Meyers enters the pole vault competition ranked No. 16 in the country after posting a personal-pest and season-best mark of 17'-7.75" at the Red Raider Open on Feb. 4. Meyers won the 2011 Big 12 Indoor pole vault championship as a freshman and was named Outstanding Freshman.

The Lady Raider 4x400 relay team comprised of Taylor Evans, Candace Jackson, Erica Alexander and Olivia Lewis recorded its fastest time of the season just a week ago at the Iowa State Last Chance meet. The Lady Raiders have now recorded season best times in back-to-back meets and will enter the NCAA Indoor Championships looking to continue that streak. The squad recorded the second fastest time in school history at the Big 12 Indoor Championships with a time of 3:34.63, and then bested that in Ames, Iowa with at time of 3:34.51.
