What it Meant:

Closse capped off a dominating indoor season with the conference title and was later recognized for her efforts by earning the Women's Mountain Region Field Athlete of the Year award. She ended her indoor season with a second-team All-American honor after finishing 12th overall at teh NCAA Indoor Championships in Nampa, Idaho.

Head Coach Wes Kittley's Take:

"It shows that our throws program is fantastic. We had a national champion in 2009 and we have just continued that with Kelly this year. It just shows what a premier and consistent throws program that we have here at Texas Tech."
