Red Raiders, Lady Raiders Move Into Top 15
 


The Lady Raiders appeared at No. 13 and Red Raiders at No. 14 in Week 1 of the USTFCCCA Outdoor Rankings.

LUBBOCK, Texas - Both Texas Tech men's and women's track and field teams moved into the top 15 of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Week 1 Rankings released Tuesday.

The Lady Raiders appeared at No. 13 while the Red Raiders moved up two spots to No. 14 in the first edition of the rankings to released since the preseason computer poll on March 19.

The Red Raiders have now appeared in the top 20 of the regular season rankings for 33 consecutive weeks, and in the top 25 for 47 consecutive weeks dating back to 2008. Meanwhile, the Lady Raiders appeared in every regular season ranking since the start of the 2012 season. 

The Red Raiders opened the 2013 outdoor season No. 16 in the preseason rankings and the Lady Raiders opened at No. 17.

Texas Tech will host its first home outdoor meet of the season Saturday as the Red Raiders and Lady Raiders compete in the Texas Tech Open at the Terry and Linda Fuller Track and Field Complex.
