LUBBOCK, Texas - For the second week in a row Texas Tech has had an athlete named to the Big 12 Track Athlete of the Week. D'Andra Carter won the award for her performance at the Oklahoma Invitational.

Carter won the discus with a nation leading throw of 189'-05" and marks the third time this season she has broke the school record. She also placed second in the shot put with a throw of 50'-10.25". The award is Carter's first for her career.

Carter and the Red Raiders will be off this week except for Sally Kipyego and Irene Kimaiyo. Kipeygo and Kimaiyo will be running at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational in Standford, Calif. on May 4, 2008. The rest of the Red Raiders will return to action Thurs. May 8, 2008 at the ACU Invitational.
