LUBBOCK, Texas - For the fourth consecutive week Texas Tech is being honored with a Big 12 Athlete of the Week as Shawon Harris and Patience Knight swept the awards for their performance at the ACU Invitational.

Knight set a new school record in the shot put winning the event with a throw of 57'-11". The throw is the best collegiate throw in the nation and is a `B' Olympic qualifying standard.

Harris won the 110M hurdles and 400M hurdles. His time of 50.25 in the 400M hurdles is the ninth best in the nation. Harris is also ranked sixth in the 110M hurdles. Both of his times are Olympic `B' qualifying standards.

This is the first award for both student-athletes this season. Both athletes will be traveling this week to the Big 12 Championships in Boulder, Colo. starting on May 16.
