LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's Sally Kipyego, Cliff Felkins and Dion Miller earned Mountain Region Female Track Athlete of the Year and Men's and Women's Assistant Coaches of the Year awarded by the USTFCCCA.

This is the second year in a row that Kipyego has been named the Mountain Region Female Athlete of the Year. She won the award for her NCAA record setting performance in the 10,000M. She also won the 1,500M and 5,000M at the Big 12 Champions and Midwest Regional Championships.

Dion Miller won the Midwest Regional Men's Assistant Coach of the Year. He has coached Shawon Harris to the Big 12 Championship and Midwest Regional 110M hurdle titles and qualified the 4x400M relay. Miller also won the Mountain Region Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year earlier this season.

Cliff Felkins was named the Mountain Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year. He has had all three of his women throwers qualify for the NCAA Championships. D'Andra Carter leads the nation in the discus with a throw of 189'-05". Patience Knight is ranked third in the shot put going into the NCAA Championships and Ozie Okolie qualified 13th in the hammer throw. All three have set new school records in their respective events.
