LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior D'Andra Carter represented Team USA at the NACAC Under 23 Championship track and field meet in Toluca, Mexico, by winning gold in the women's discus.

The two-time All-American led from the very first throw of the competition. Her second throw was the best of the competition as it measured 173'-07" to win the event.

The NACAC Athletic Association's U-23 Championships are held every two years in one of the 32 member nations of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association, one of six regional athletics associations affiliated with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
