Lady Raiders Sign Top Hurdler|
Shaelyn Grant, one of the top hurdlers in the country, will join the Lady Raiders in 2014.

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech track and field program continued its tradition as one of the top hurdle destinations in the country as the Lady Raiders announced the signing of Shaelyn Grant today.
Grant ranks No. 3 nationally and No. 1 in the state of Missouri in the women`s 400-meter hurdles after clocking a time of 58.91 at the U.S National Junior Olympics in July.
"We're very excited about the addition of Shaelyn to our squad," associate head coach Dion Miller said. "She is a great young lady and a great athlete. We are lucky to have her."
Grant, a product of McCluer High School, also holds top times in the state in the 100-meter hurdles (14.35) and the 300-meter hurdles (42.95).
The Lady Raiders will look to replace the services of senior Katie Grimes who earned All-America honors in the 100-meter hurdles in back-to-back seasons. She earned first team honors in the 60-meter hurdles during the 2013 indoor season.
