LUBBOCK, Texas - Three former track standouts for Texas Tech Mike Mathieu, Andrae Williams and Shereefa Lloyd earned medals for their respective countries in the 4x400M relays at the Beijing Olympics.

Lloyd ran the second leg of the Jamaican 4x400M relay that earned a bronze medal. The Jamaican relay ran a time of 3:20.40. The United States of America won the women's 4x400M relay with a time of 3:18.54. Lloyd owns the school record in the 400M and 4x100M relay.

Mathieu and Williams ran the second and third legs of the Bahamas 4x400M relay. The relay ran a time of 2:58.03 to earn the silver medal behind the United States of America. Mathieu was a four-time All-American and Williams was a five-time All-American while at Tech.
