Rose Tanui takes third at Mountain Regional Championships
Tanui paced the Lady Raiders with a third place finish

LUBBOCK, Texas - Senior Rose Tanui took home third place honors Saturday at the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships with a time of 20:54.0 in Provo, Utah, at the East Bay Golf Course.
The Texas Tech women's team finished in sixth place with 191 points and the men's team finished with 493 points to give them a 17th place finish in the 10K meet.
Caroline Jepleting, the reigning Big 12 champion, finished 11th with a time of 21:20.3 while teammate Purity Biwott notched an 18th place finish with a time of 21:34.5. Devin Bailey and Rachel Folan finished 63rd and 96th, respectively.
Leading the Red Raiders was sophomore Reid Strong who finished 73rd with a time of 32:44.0. Fellow sophomore Brendan Devlin took 99th place with a time of 34:01.0 while Kade Parker finished in 103rd place (34:22.5).
New Mexico and Colorado tied for the top spot in the women's 6K meet while BYU took first place honors for the men.
Lady Raiders Rose Tanui, Caroline Jepleting and Purity Biwott will all wait to find out Sunday evening if they will receive an NCAA at-large bid. The NCAA Championships will take place on Nov. 21 at the La Vern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
