LUBBOCK, Texas - Once again, Texas Tech's Sally Kipyego dominated the cross country world. The Red Raiders finished in 18th place.

The sensation took victory on the 6K course clocking a 19:30.9, which set a new course record by 18 seconds. The Red Raider outran 252 runners, while the second-place finisher, Jenny Barringer, crossed the finish line with a time of 19:47.8, a total of 16.9 seconds behind the reigning champion.

"It feels amazing to win again and I am really excited," Kipyego said. "I kept telling myself before the race, `you can do this'."

Kipyego has now won a total of five NCAA Championships - 2006 cross country, 2007 indoor track (3,000 and 5,000 meters) and 2007 outdoor track (10,000 meters).

Teammate Irene Kimaiyo followed Kipyego with a 59th finish overall with a time of 21:14.7, while Gladys Kipsang finished in 78th clocking at 21:24.3. The rest of the Red Raiders to finish were: Chep Boit (179th), Asia Diaz (229th), Michelle Guzman (239th ) and Katherine Priebe (662nd).
