LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men and women's cross country squad will compete in the Buffalo Stampede hosted by West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas, Friday.

The men's squad finished 10th in its 2006 conference campaign, while the women took 2nd for the conference and 6th overall. The Red Raiders' men and women team have a total of 21 newcomers on the season. Sophomore Silas Kemboi and senior Edwin Sang return as the leaders for this year's competition.

Tech women finished strong in last years campaign from the help of Sally Kipyego and Irene Kimaiyo, whom were honored as All-America Team. Sophomore Gladys Kipsang also returns to the courses this season.

The women will start at 5 p.m. CT and the men will begin at 5:45 p.m. CT.
