LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's and No. 5 women's cross country teams will host its only meet in Lubbock this Friday, Sept. 18., at the Meadowbrook Golf Course with the women's race at 6:15 p.m. and the men to follow at 6:40 p.m.

Both teams are coming off a good start to the season after opening up at the Texas Tech Ruidoso Open held in Ruidoso, N.M., two weeks ago. The Lady Raiders won the dual meet with Wayland Baptist by placing first through sixth on the podium. The Red Raiders finished second to Wayland Baptist but had Gilbert Limo and Silas Kemboi in the top five of the standings.

The Lady Raiders dominated in their victory at the Texas Tech Ruidoso Open. Tech's top six runners finished in the top six with Rose Tanui leading the way. It is Tanui's first win as a Lady Raider and the squad's first victory of the season.

The teams competing in the meet will include Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, New Mexico Highlands, New Mexico Military Institute, Northwood University, Odessa College, Ranger College, South Plains College, West Texas A&M and Western Texas College.

The event is free for all fans to attend.
