Tech Cross Country Hosts Texas Tech Open

The Red Raiders and No. 22 Lady Raiders cross country teams will host the Texas Tech Cross Country Open on Friday, Sept. 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Golf Course.

The No. 22 Lady Raiders come into the meet off a win at the Texas Tech Ruidoso Open. Tech placed five runners in the top five led by senior All-American Rose Tanui. The team will be looking to win the Texas Tech Open for the fourth-straight year.

The Red Raiders look to improve on finishing second at the Texas Tech Ruidoso Open. Brendan Devlin placed second while teammate Valentino Julien was third.

The Texas Tech Cross Country Open will feature Angelo State, Clarendon College, Incarnate Word, Lubbock Christian, New Mexico Highlands, New Mexico Military Institute, Odessa College, Ranger College, South Plains, Sterling College, Tarleton State and Western Texas College.

The women will be the first to run at 5:30 p.m. and the men will follow afterwards. Admission is free for the races.
