Texas Tech's Sally Kipyego was named the Big 12 Runner of the Week for her performance at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark.

Kipyego won the Chile Pepper Festival for the third-straight year. Her time of 19:26.91 on the 6K course helped propel the Lady Raiders to its second-straight Chile Pepper Festival. The two-time Big 12 and NCAA cross country champion has yet to lose a race in her illustrious cross country career.

The women's squad was ranked No. 29 in the USTFCCCA rankings going into the Chile Pepper Festival. The win opened eyes to the squad as they jumped up to No. 12 in the recent rankings released by the USTFCCCA. The Lady Raiders are also the top Mountain Region squad this week.

The Red Raiders and Lady Raiders head to Ames, Iowa, for the Big 12 Championships held on Nov. 1st.
