LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's cross country coach Jon Murray has been named the Big 12 Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year as he led the program to its first Big 12 cross country championship.

Murray led the No. 12 Lady Raiders to the first Big 12 title in program history and Tech's first conference title since 2005. He coached four all-conference runners on the women's side in Sally Kipyego, Lillian Badaru, Asia Diaz and Michelle Guzman. While at Tech he has also helped Kipyego to become the first female in Big 12 history to win three-straight conference title as well as win two-straight NCAA Cross Country Championships.

Murray will lead both of Tech's cross country squads to the Mountain Regional Championships in Fort Collins, Colo, on Nov. 15th.
