Texas Tech junior Kennedy Kithuka was officially named to the USTFCCCA All-Mountain Region Team Monday.

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior cross country runner Kennedy Kithuka has officially been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region Team as announced Monday morning.

Kithuka continued his perfect season Friday finishing first overall at the Mountain Regional meet and automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky.

The junior transfer from Wayland Baptist, who captured two NAIA National Championships, is unbeaten in six meets this season. Kithuka has also twice been named Big 12 Runner of the Week by the conference.

Kithuka now advances to the NCAA Championships set for Nov. 17.
